Pilot Lends T-Shirt to Woman with ‘Lewd’ Top

Southwest captain forced to lend his shirt to passenger with ‘lewd’ top

Irate Chicago resident Kayla Eubanks took to Twitter to document her dispute on Tuesday with ground staffers who said her low-cut black halter top was too revealing.

“Y’all I was KICKED OFF my @SouthwestAir flight because my boobs are ‘lewd, obscene and offensive.’ I was told that passengers may look at me in my attire and be offended,” Eubanks tweeted along with a bathroom selfie showing her ensemble, which included a long red skirt.

“I really wanna know why @SouthwestAir is policing my clothes like this."

... I am unable to provide any sensible response.

Did the pilot offer her a clean T-shirt or one that he was wearing?

They usually don't fly in a t-shirt

It was a slogan tee shirt, nit an underwear tee shirt. I do not understand why anybody wants to wear that getup on a plane. How about "no shirt, no shoes, no service" since it seems to work so many other places.

No top and a mask on. This is 2020 satire

Unfortunately, past incidents have taught us to be skeptical of initial reports. The company invariably refuses to describe the incident in detail, and the customer sometimes later appears to have been seeking publicity or outsized compensation. In the rare case the incident appears to have been pre-planned. This does not look like one of those rare cases to me.

Maybe aircraft need full-time video recording like other forms of public transit.

Meh, I’ve seen better, I’ve seen worse.

I don’t personally find it offensive really, just more club attire than aircraft attire. Out of place is probably the best descriptor.

She's a "model/travel blogger" (on Instagram) hunting for clicks. Ho-hum.

Does this mean that she's not (yet???) an influencer?

I have seen similar on many PHX/LAS flights

Hah! That elicited an audible laugh from me.

I don't think it's lewd but I do think swimwear isn't really appropriate on a commercial aircraft.

Too bad that airlines seem to have gotten rid of the stranded passenger amenity kits years ago. The t-shirts from the SkyTeam kits made for decent sleepwear.

I'd have kicked her off for those earrings.

This incident is not the first one we have ever heard about WN's policing of clothing. But at the minimum, the passenger was not kicked this time because the pilot lent a t-shirt.

To me - this is an actual improvement from the past.
