How many were on your flight today?

Without assigned seating, Southwest would have no way of "blocking seats." They do promise to keep middle seats open. I think everyone knows what "blocking middles" means.

Again, WN limits sales. Some other carriers (e.g., DL) are actually blocking seats.
I think you're being a little bit pedantic here. I'm not sure anyone is suggesting that WN is putting a physical barrier on the middle seats, but rather just telling people not to use them unless traveling together.

Speaking of the middle seats, interesting anecdote from a recent flight - there were only 34 people on board and two rows behind me there was a gentleman traveling alone who wanted to sit in the middle seat. Crew made him move to the aisle or window (he ended up choosing the window) and nobody else was in his row or within two rows of him. I found that rather curious.

70pax on the MCO-STL this morning, zero BS passengers. My promo A-List other half was A16 and the first one in general boarding. 'Full flight' on a -700 for connecting STL-SLC leg, he got A23 with his auto check in. I was two hours late checking in for the first leg, so T-25hrs for that one, and got A52 for this leg. One BS passenger... A LOT of large families with tiny Typhoid Marys and Mikes running amok in the boarding area. I had somehow forgotten about that SLC effect. Aside from the youngest pax, excellent mask compliance without noticeable prompting from staff - both in the airport and onboard.

I don't agree. "Blocking seats" has a very specific meaning in the airline industry. The term simply does not apply to what WN is doing (unless you're talking about row 1, which is indeed physically blocked on WN flights).

Your ridiculous parsing is undermining any credibility your posts may have had.

MDW-ATL 8:30 this morning on a 737-800.

Every row had one person and a few had 2. So maybe 40% full.

I dunno but expect SW to drop gobs of flights from its schedule after Labor-Day weekend in an effort to support the already weak load factors.

PNS-BNA Thu 7/23 - 54 PAX
BNA-PNS Sun 7/26 - 90 PAX

both on -700s

received A24 at T-24 check in for the outbound flight and A-20 at T-22:15 for the return, so I was surprised to see that this flight was more crowded. Also of note, I was able to snag the infinite legroom seat on each leg. On the outbound flight, another passenger sat in the aisle seat of my row despite the love seat in front being empty - I thought that to be strange even without social distancing. On the nearly "covid full" return, the aisle seat remained empty and a couple snagged the love seat. Return flight departed from the new D concourse at BNA, through the mask, it still had that new terminal smell

Personally, between the two, I'd grab the exit row aisle over the "luv seat," every time, as the legroom is significantly better. (The luv seat has basically the same legroom as any other regular seat in the plane.)

7/30 WN 2130 ATL-RDU 737-700. Just 50 people. The FA said we could all have our own row.
