They have a history of sloppy language. IF you call call the Customer relations number. They have more authority than the regular agents.

Called into Southwest to get clarification and they said that if you qualified under 2019 promotion for A-list, you do not get the extension. If you qualified for A-list promotion/status challenge in 2020, then that status would be extended until Dec 31, 2021.
Very sloppy and poorly worded communication by Southwest in this case. CP I would understand as there's revenue impact, but A-List is practically no cost to WN.

... er, ... NVM You're absolutely right, and the WN bean-counters should never look at what A+ "costs" them!

So.....your CP was, in fact, not extended to June 2022? Thanks for confirming.

Well speaking of A-list extension...
I earned my A-list through a promotion and it expires Dec 2020. I sent them an e-mail this morning and asked why it's not extended to Dec 2021. I received a CALL (same day) in the afternoon and talked to a rep and she explained I had earned that A-list in 2019 so my expiration was 2020.
HOWEVER.... due to what is currently going on they were making an EXCEPTION and extending it to Dec 2021!!
Not sure how I got so lucky but I'll take it.

We are in exactly the same boat... actually we earned in it January.
Total rip off? How do you figure that?
They are still flying planes everyday. You can fly if you want to. Sure, we would love an extension and maybe it will happen at a later date. And maybe not.
Give me a break.

So I completed my promotional A-List challenge of flying 3x round trips by May 31. Completed the last leg of my third round trip on Sunday, May 31 (I realize the deadline to complete had been extended through October, but just so happened to be traveling last week anyways). Regardless, my account now shows an A-List expiration of 12/31/2020. It does not appear that I was automatically given the extension through 2021. Does it take the system a while to process these extensions before my expiration date is updated? Or do I need to contact Southwest to have them take a look?

Another data point on the extending the Travel Fund expiration trick.
I had six record locators for cancelled flights, all of which had a Jan. 21, 2021 expiration.
6-1-20 at 5 pm: I used these TFs to make three new reservations.
6-2-20 at noon: I cancelled one of the new reservations (note that it's not 24 hours yet). TF page for this after cancellation shows the same Jan. 21, 2021 expiration as before.
6-2-20 at 8 pm: The expiration for the flight I cancelled earlier in the day is now Sep. 7, 2022.
6-3-20 at noon: I cancelled the two remaining reservations. As before, these two new TFs show the same old expiration date of Jan. 21, 2021.
6-4-20 at 9 am: Now all three TFs have Sep. 7, 2022 expiration dates.
So, the takeaway is hang in there a bit after cancelling to see if your old expiration date will switch to Sep. 7, 2022 in the next day or so. My guess is that the Southwest IT systems sweep through the TFs once or twice a day to convert them to Sep. 7, 2022 if they stem from a recent cancellation.

This isn't true. My promotional A-List that was set to expire June 30, 2020 was automatically extended to December 31, 2020 weeks ago. Many people have had their A-List expiration automatically updated, as evidenced by earlier posts in this thread.

Interesting. From the announcement, I didn't realize an extension to December 31, 2020 was an option. Looks like those were the ones that expired in June 2020. Are there any DPs of automatic extension to December 2021?

I just briefly scanned the thread and did not see A-List extensions to December 2021 except one case when someone requested a manual review. I see CP extensions to 6/21 and Travel Funds extensions, but no A-List to 2021 posts. Can you link to a post?
