I am at 11 segments and had several flights booked that were canceled. When they resume flying and I am allowed to travel I will fly SWA just like I did before, I will be happy if they extend my status if I am unable to earn it outright for the remainder of the year but it will not factor into my decision to fly SWA or not.

A-list, A-list+ they will extend.
CP, they will not. It's the carrot that drives too much revenue. They will reduce the number of points needed for the CP and probably have 3x qualifying points. But I do not believe they will extend the CP. That simply wouldn't make sense.

When things get back to normal it is likely that overall fares will be lower than in 2019, rendering CP less valuable than in prior years.

I think its possible a one time reduction in qualifications might mitigate the situation. I don't know what is fair but A-List is 25 flights or 35K points reducing to 18-20 flights and 20K points may be an idea. The same thing could be done for CP

I was also wondering about reduced capacity to facilitate social distancing. I do hope they will do it, because given a choice between a carrier that is doing it vs. one that is packing the aircraft, I'd go with the less crowded plane - - at least in the short term.

Thanks for the heads up, I doubt we take our Vegas trip in June ( or if DL has the no middle seat policy still in effect ) but I still went ahead and changed our seats to an aisle and a window.

Please feel free to share the language on your companion pass that designates it as "Super Special Butt Miles Companion Pass", otherwise you should probably come to terms with the fact that all CPs are the same and will be extended/not extended on the same terms regardless of earning method.

I could see cutting the A-list and CP qualifying thresholds in half for 2020. That would be simple to understand and explain. Unlike the too clever by half funds expiration change.

Possibly. But, there will still be "free" flights taken. And keep in mind, that free seat could be the last seat that could of/would of been a higher priced fare. In the near term, flights will have open seats, but at some point, we will get back near normal.

if it’s a full flight, and that has been seldom ime.
