Probably hibernating and looking to call a bottom, then going to pounce on more shares of the companies he already holds.

Tons of examples of "Never let a good crisis go to waste" already. Whether its universal income, dealing with 737max from the airline point-of-view, Google getting into bed with government rather than fighting it, Taiwan using big data to deal with the crisis, or you trying to get some home projects done while "working from home". I'm sure Buffet is trying to do the same thing. I hope he doesn't just bottom feed and actually do something more.

He's long been rumored to be interested in WN. Berkshire has a very large holding already.

I'm buying.

He has said many many times he would buy in BRK stock hand-over-fist if it got to 1.1x book value.

It is now under .93.

Market cap now $382B and it recently had $128B in cash and near-equivalents.

Guess we will find out if he was telling the truth.

And I imagine he will, unless he can find something that’s a better deal.

He sold less than 5% of his WN stock. A head fake to get exactly this headline, perhaps preparatory to buying more or bidding for the whole thing. And harvesting a tax loss along the way.

To scare people into unloading it.

That way, he can come back in a week or so and get it for even less.

It's my understanding that he is completely out of all of his previous positions in American, Delta, LUV and United. Zero shares in any of the four.

I just checked the charts and all four airlines were considerably higher in the 4th quarter 2019. He saved himself massive further losses if he incurred any at all.
