Pretty close to inevitable. The CO Economic Development Commission granted Southwest $12.5 million in job growth incentive tax credits.

WN must add 1,013 full-time jobs paying an average annual wage of $128,115. It has 8 years to make the hires.

I remember this, we all wanted to move there and take one of those jobs. That figure has to be fully costed & loaded with benefits, training, pensions, stock options and everything else under the sink...

Not bad for a company that completely packed up and left DEN in the eighties.

Denver Business Journal:

The high salaries reflect in part a planned increase in the amount of pilots and flight crews based out of Denver, the airline said.

WN pilot wages are good, and high with a few years seniority as will be the case of the many jobs bid-in. These pilot jobs won't all be filled with 1st-year pilots.

Ok, UA has been promised 24 more gates, WN 16 new gates. I assume F9 wants some new gates as they are at capacity. The math doesn't add up with only 39 new gates in the expansion?

Frontier is wanting 1 new gate. But still that is 41 gates total not 39.

The Business Journal distinguishes between gate allotments and gate expansion.

The Denver City Council unanimously approved a contract that will grant United Airlines 24 additional gates, some of which are being constructed as part of the gate expansion project.

I don't understand how this is going to work. No way DL is going to just give up their 6 gates in A since that is also where their SC is. I am very interested to see where each airline ends up.

Ironic since F9 had most of the gates on the west half of the A Concourse and surrendered six of them back to the airport just a few years ago.

Yes, that what they wanted. There are only 7 or 8 gates in the entire concourse A. I think they should be build more gates.
