When you have at least 10,000 points post to you Rapid Rewards® account between 7/1/19 and 10/31/19 under the category of “Credit Card,” you’ll be eligible for a 25% bonus (up to 10,000 bonus points).*

For example, if you have 2,500 points from your Rapid Rewards® Credit Card post to your account each month during July, August, September, and October, you’ll earn 2,500 bonus points from Southwest.

Those 2,500 bonus points will count toward Companion Pass, too!

Here's what it'll look like in your Southwest Rapid Rewards account:

Terms and Conditions

*To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must register between 6/7/2019 and 10/31/2019 11:59 p.m. ET and have a minimum of 10,000 points earned from Rapid Rewards Credit Card post to your Rapid Rewards account during the promotion period of 7/1/2019 and 10/31/2019. Please allow up to 8 weeks after the end of the promotional period for the 25% bonus points to post to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account. Maximum bonus point accumulation during the promotional period is 10,000 bonus points per Rapid Rewards account. This could help you reach 110k CPQP, but to earn redeemable points you are better off using Freedom Unlimited then transferring to Sapphire then to Southwest. 1.5 points per dollar.

How is the promotion's minimum spend established (whether someone receives the minimum 10K spend or 20K spend)? Is it based on credit limit, spend history or ???

Your guess is as good as anyone's. (I don't think we've been able to crowdsource that info.)

Email received today. Click thru shows the promo available in my account, along with an ad for the promo. When I try to register, it says I'm already registered. (I had registered and received the earlier 15% promo, but not this one.)

The requirement is earning a minimum of 10,000 points from the credit card. So $5,000 in spending on Southwest and partner hotel/rental cars would produce 10,000 points plus a 2,500 bonus?

Yes, as far as I can tell. It's not a terribly clear or enticing promo!

Guess you need to charge $40k during the promo, just to get the 10k bonus... that's a lot in 4 months...

you aren't reading it correctly.

It is correct that you would need to earn 40,000 credit card points in 4 months in order to receive the maximum bonus of 10,000 points (25%).

On regular spending ($1 = 1 point) that would require spending $40,000. On Southwest or partner spending ($1 = 2 points) it would be half that.

The threshold is $10,000 ($20,000 for some) to qualify for the bonus, meaning you'll earn 25% on any credit card point amount above 10,000 (or 20,000) and below 40,000.

Sign-up bonuses are excluded per the terms and conditions, however in the earlier version of the promo they were included in qualifying totals for both threshold and earning. Meaning spend could be significantly less.

True. But the bonus starts at a spend of $10,000.

And you still need to charge $40k during the 4 month promo to get the maximum 10k bonus (which was the original point).

(Also: As I mentioned above, points calculated for spend threshold & earning do not necessarily equal amount actually spent in dollars.)
