Love Field To north Fort Worth - new options?

I fly frequently SWA into Love Field with an eventual destination in north Fort Worth. The Fort Worth destination is within walking distance of one of the new TEXRail stations. Is it possible to ride DART trains from Love Field to Terminal A at DFW and then catch one of the TEXRail trains to my destination? Is that a reasonable option with luggage? What kind of terminal transfer is required at DFW?

There is a bus that goes from Love Field to a DART station with Green and Orange lines (Inwood/Love Field). The northbound Orange Line goes to DFW Terminal A. Or you could take the Orange or Green line south to Victory Station and transfer to TEXRail.

I'm not sure which direction is better, but I'm guessing that south would be better because that is one transfer and either DART train will take you there. Going north to DFW, you can't take the Green Line and would have to transfer from terminal A to B (a bus when you're landside).

Another suggestion that would cut out riding DART would be to Uber/Lyft to Medical-Market Center and then take the TRE all the way into Fort Worth. This worked well for me when I needed to get from Fort Worth to Love Field. The Lyft ended up being about $7 and saved a considerable amount of time.

If you do that, be sure to ask where the Lyft/Uber picks up at Love. The signage is very misleading.

The TRE and TEXRail are two different lines. You cannot connect to TEXRail at Victory station. You can connect to the TRE and then connect to TEXRail at T&P station in Fort Worth. https://www.star-telegram.com/news/t...224954745.html

Understood. My question was more about what was involved getting from the DART station at DFW to the TEXRail station at DFW, since its reasonably easy to get to DART from Love Field. If that station to station transfer at DFW is easy, then the combination becomes a possible alternative to a cab ride to downtown Dallas to catch TRE. I guess it involved too much advance planning to put both DART and TEXRail in the same station at DFW in the first place. We are about a generation behind the rest of the world in airport planning.

From the Star Telegram article I linked to previously: Arrive at DFW Airport Terminal B (lower level). Use a covered, lighted walkway to walk about the length of a football field to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit light-rail station at Terminal A (also lower level).

So I would suggest looking at the schedules to see which is quicker for you:

Love Field -- bus to DART station -- Orange or Green line south to Victory station -- TRE to Ft Worth T&P -- TEXRail to your destination

or

Love Field -- bus to DART station -- Orange Line north to DFW -- walk to terminal B (there is also a bus landside) -- TEXRail to your destination

TRE trains take you to downtown Fort Worth then you would have to transfer to TEXRail train to go to north FW. For a few more dollars, you can Uber from Love to DFW Terminal B where you can board TEXRail trains directly.
