I was able to successfully secure a seat this morning on the 3/18 inaugrual flight #808 departing OAK 820a arriving HNL 1110a. Who else will be on the flight?

Nice, that's awesome you will be there for the first flight of all stations. Just gotta wait on LIH now

Sadly I don't have the time for multiple trips out there, but the inaugural will be worth it!!!

Any announcement as to what WN is going to do for these flights?

What do they typically do for a new route?

Having flown the last ~28 new city openings on the Southwest first day of service I would predict: posters, photo booth, Hawaiian entertainment/band at gate plus possible in flight. Maybe a hat, snorkel, flip flops, HNL coupon book at each seat. Some flight voucher giveaways, trivia. Snack trays/catering pre departure and at arrival.

Not Oprah show ($$$) giveaways but still a plane full of likely even 1/3 splits of happy employees, happy customers, and media/reporters.

For the inaugural OAK-LGB flight, I believe there were reports balloons and celebratory cookies and some other goodies at the gates on both the OAK and LGB side and something like a free pair of sunglasses for all passengers.

First Southwest international flights to Mexico from OAK had a mariachi band, balloons, and cake on the OAK side. (https://www.oaklandairport.com/south...ights-oakland/)

I assume that the inaugural flights to HNL & OGG will have some similar celebratory activities and goodies on both ends.

I know i'll be taking lots of photos! Really hoping for the all out gate celebrations on either end, plus a goodie bag in each seat plus in flight giveaways.

Should have put an * on that number of consecutive launch flights.

-One Sunday they launched 4 new cities and while we couldn't be on every launch flight, we still found a routing to from or thru each city on launch day.

-First day of international flying they launched ~3 countries. We picked Aruba and did the others the next two weekends.

-They launched Liberia CR and IIRC a Mexico destination the same day. Had to double back to Liberia after the party day
