Any flights from a New England airport have to be booked as a multi-city through a city like BWI. The roundtrip or oneway search doesnt work.

Once you add the fares up I found its cheaper to fly non-stop out of Logan on Hawaiian.

Bummed SMF is not bookable yet. Looking for September flights so hopefully WN expands its service to include SMF soon.

Thanks mpw81-
Worked perfectly, and I managed to get eight friends to also purchase tickets within the hour as well.
Now I see some flights are pricing higher or sold out completely. Word is spreading

Connection issue with BWI. I can get TO HNL but not back... I guess there are worse problems.

Looks like 3/17 was a correct prediction. I see SJC and OAK to HNL and OGG. Interisland to KOA starts 2 months later on 5/12. I'll leave the prices as a surprise.
Heck-its not even on splashed on southwest.com or emailed out. I thought they'd be blowing up the internet!

Pricing out of MCI shows fares as low as $133 to HNL plus lots of options 4-5 months out under $200 one-way. That's a game-changer. The "midrange" fares appear to be low-$300's one-way, which is not really a game-changer price-wise but is a substantially better experience for travelers who don't have a legacy elite status.

Only frustrating part: Southwest's primitive IT can't sell the eastbound segment as 1 itin. Yes, I know it's a west coast layover, but at least fix the damn site so I can buy the ticket on a single PNR!

It's now splashed on the front page. Southwest thinks I'm connecting from Phoenix, so the front page is all about Phoenix one-stops to Hawaii.

Yes, the cheapest buckets are mostly gone. Delaying an hour cost me $120 or so, but it's still a good deal.

Wow. Those $29 inter island fares are definitely a game changer. For the cost of just checking a bag on Hawaiian you get the flight and 2 bags on Southwest. Great for locals. I was really suprised there are that many flights per day between HNL and KOA. I can see a lot of Big Island locals heading to the city for the day, or even using them as a courier service.

Connections to/from East of the Rockies will be very limited, and that's not going to change anytime soon. You'll need to book positioning or return flights separately.

The fares I booked were for June. The $29 KOA-->HNL goes from $29 in June to $49 for the rest of the summer. Still not bad at all.

I was able to book DAL-OGG (via OAK) for $178/11k points one way in September. There are still some at this price and some DAL-HNL for $158/9500 points in August/September. Unfortunately, for my dates, the return is not yet available to book due to being in October.

Unfortunate - Appears Hawaiian has not (yet) responded; traveling HNL-OGG during the first week in April, will spend the extra $$ for a reserved, preferred seat.

Appears initial service is limited to OAK-HNL, no SAN nonstops for early April, no availability to OGG, KOA. Cost of connecting return flight (HNL-OAK-SAN) is more expensive than AS nonstop, where I was able to instantly upgrade to first class.

WN may be holding back on its big promotional splash until there is a sufficient level of service to meet the anticipated demand.

Interestingly... when those cheap fares sell out, on their 4 flights/day, HAL comes in cheaper. In the end, Hawaiian will end up offering more cheap seats in the market than Southwest.
