15% bonus points promotion
Just saw this in my RR account promotions:
Register to earn up to 15,000 bonus points this year. When you have at least 25,000 points post to your Rapid Rewards® account between 2/1/19 and 4/30/19 under the category of 'Credit Card', you'll be eligible for a 15% bonus (up to 15,000 bonus points*). For example, if you have 9,000 points from your Rapid Rewards Credit Card post to your account each month during February, March, and April, you'll earn 4,050 bonus points from Southwest. Those 4,050 bonus points will count toward Companion Pass, too!
Gotta ramp up those CC charges... |
I got 35,000 points required to get the bonus...thats a very high threshold....over 10k a month with a bit of bonused spend....but i dont think i will make that level of spend. I think this wont be useful for me.
|
For those that stumble-along and ask:
The 15% bonus points will count towards Companion Pass qualification, but will not count toward A-List or A-List Preferred qualification. |
Lump o' coal in my promotion stocking.

They probably send these to people who spend $500 a month on the CC. :D |

Interesting, my offer was +2,000 CPQP with $4,000 in spend by 3/31/19. The offer wasn't in the "Promotions" tab but on my "Snapshot". $4k in 2.5 months should be fairly easy but none of that spend will really move the needle for me.
|
I have the 35,000 points posted offer with at 15% bonus. |
I see nothing. Also nothing in Snapshot.
Is this under Rapid Reward (top heading) / Promotions??? . All I get is Redeem Points for Play and Packages. Or is there another way to reach the correct page? I just got my RR Credit card 5 weeks ago, so maybe too new to Credit Card?? As I spend $5-8 K per month, this would be a good deal for me? |
Yay, I got an offer! But boo, mine requires earning 25k CC points in 3 statements to collect the bonus. While my three biggest earnings from monthly CC spend over the past 24 months would hit such a target, the highest total for any three consecutive statements has been 24k. I wonder how little of a coincidence that is.
|
Received the 25k threshold requirement to get the 15% bonus points. |
25,000, 15%.

You will qualify for and receive a 15% bonus on points earned from your Rapid Rewards Credit Card which are also posted to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account during the promotional period. Points that are earned from your Rapid Rewards Credit Card during the promotional period but are not posted to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account during the promotional period will not receive the 15% bonus points. Got the email this morning. 10,000 to earn 15%. Scant WN uses over the last few years, I really should have closed them.

Are you talking about a variation of the offer being discussed here? Or something completely different? |

but if you spend more then you can get more bonus. Not on a percentage basis of course, but you can get more total bonus points...it’s capped at 15k points. We’ll spend around 30k and get 4500 bonus points in the 3 months. |
10K/15% here. I just got the personal card through the 50K for $2k reddit link. Hoping once I hit the minimum spend and the 50K SW points post to my account in February the 15% bonus will stack on top. We shall see.
Edit: looks like the terms state credit card bonuses won't trigger the 15%. Bummer. |

A different offer.
This is a thread dedicated to the multiple variations of the specific spend offer, as discussed in the title and 1st post. The one you mention is, presumably, a sign up or other bonus offer, which has completely different terms and -- most importantly -- requirements. Maybe discuss those offers in the threads dedicated to them? |

If not, sorry for completely derailing this whole thread by posting one post about the same Southwest credit card that has different spend requirements and a different bonus structure. Even though this same offer was mentioned a few post above mine, that's no excuse. |

Doesn't "different offer" and "multiple variations of the specific spend offer" kind of mean the same thing?
No, it does not. ;)

To recap: Here we're discussing the 15% bonus points with spend between 2/1/2019 and 4/30/2019 offer(s) for existing cardholders. Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Is the offer you mentioned (and, presumably, the one mentioned earlier that you referenced) a part of that promotion, for existing cardholders? What are the terms and conditions of the offer you mentioned? |

Sorry, I overlooked the previous post. But no reason to get all eye-rolly -- I was just suggesting we keep things on topic. As futile as that is here. ;) To recap: Here we're discussing the 15% bonus points with spend between 2/1/2019 and 4/30/2019 offer(s) for existing cardholders. Maybe I'm misunderstanding. At the risk of further derailing this thread, the offer I have is for a flat 2,000 points for spending $4,000 on my Southwest card. There is no percentage here. It's all or nothing. All spend from 01/15/19 - 03/31/19 is eligible for this promotion. And yes, this is for existing cardholders.
Was this an email you received, or just something you found in your Promotions? |

Interesting, thanks for that info. That does seem like a different, but related offer. I apologize -- earlier I thought you were referring to a sign-up bonus, or some other unrelated promo.

Considering that in late 2017 WN offered me a 50% bonus on CC points starting from the first dollar spent, this is a pretty poor promo.
