Cutoff time for int’l boarding pass when first leg is domestic?

I have an early flight out of our small airport (BDL) to GCM (Grand Cayman) with a stopover in FLL.

Southwest doesn’t issue boarding passes for int’l flights without checking in at the ticketing counter for proof of passport, etc.

Is there an official cutoff time for getting your boarding pass in that situation? Is there a cutoff that requires more time than a domestic flight?

i ask because I was planning on arriving like I normally would for a domestic flight - 1 hour before takeoff.

Southwest phone support just read the party line and told me to arrive 2 hours before an int’l flight.

What was the answer or where did you find it?

I believe you need to be at the departure airport and checked in at least one hour before your first flight departs (regardless if it is an international or domestic leg) but can't find anything official which says this. This policy can make for some early showtimes if you are taking an early morning flight connecting to an international flight.

Regular time if your first leg is domestic.
