So has Allegiant, yet the "cool" thing is to defend them.

Well, yes. If you're going to root around all the corners of the interwebs to find "equivalent" FAA fines from other airlines that in fact aren't equivalent at all, just to proclaim "they do it too!"...then you're going to be labeled a Southwest apologist.

Just to point out that the fine proposed for AA was double the fine proposed for SWA.

I always assumed that one reason for windows on airplanes was to help people evacuate if the crash occurs in daylight and to enable rescue workers to look into the cabin with flashlights after dark. Maybe I heard too many FAs announce that window shades must be open for landing, although somewhat surprisingly, this isn't stressed at takeoff time.

I think it was a rhetorical question.

If you don't like WN, fine. But to keep coming here and bringing up incidents that have NOTHING to do with maintenance is disingenuous.

When I see some real statistical analysis proving shoddy maintenance practices, then I will make a rational decision.

This just in the DOT IG is apparently looking into FAAs oversight of Allegiant and AA maintenance.
DOT to Audit FAA's Oversight of AA and G4 - Airliners.net
Allegiant is no surprise due to recent publicity but AA?

Not a SW apologist by any means, but that truck crash is all on the crap area BWI is near. Probably crap union workers doing work overtime, over-stressed in that crappy airport. Recently they decided it was a great idea to close 2 gates, and combine all 3 gate into 1 (A-B-C into C), and get rid of TSA precheck after 10pm. Lovely, keep up the good job you crappy BWI. /endTirade
Now, getting back to WN, please reduce your delays. it's killing your regular flyers who have to commute on last flight of the night. 3 out of past 8 flights (last month) was delayed 30min-2hr.
