Not picking up checked luggage

No, pay to rent the car, store the bags, don't move it out of the spot, and then return the car exactly as it was left. That way, you avoid the parking fees and the need to put gas in it. Otherwise, you're stealing a service (and run the risk of the car - and your bags - not being there upon your return!)

Not to be obtuse here, but if you just stash your bags into an empty trunk at the rental lot, what's to keep someone else from choosing that same car later and driving off with it?

Again, YOU TAKE THE KEYS WITH YOU!!

Does nobody rent from National, where you walk up to any car, the keys are in the car, you pick the car, you take the keys out of the car???
