OK, I have a recent example of an early unexpected CC statement drop from Chase.

I got the Sapphire Reserve in late Nov., registering it online 11/25.

Took a look thereafter at the online info and it said my next statement date was 1/1/17, which seemed kind of odd.

Yesterday I signed in and I see that a statement dropped on Dec. 2.

THAT is what Chase can do to you.

How did you determine that 1/1/17 was your statement drop date?

Southwest mall purchase should post before the end of the year.

Marriott or Hyatt point transfer would also work.

I would do one or both today

I replied when I read your post and didn't read the entire thread.

I'm glad it worked out for you

The only thing that seems odd is that a newly opened Chase credit card would even show a statement ending date. Every time I've ever gotten a credit card from Chase the statement ending date said unavailable and would remain that way until the first statement billing cycle ended.

Without additional information this data point is worthless.

I ran across this. I didn't search for a verdict. I guess this person didn't know the rules

Guessing that this sterling plaintiff has never purchased a revenue ticket on WN.
