Southwest credit I can't use - anything I can do with it?
I have a credit from a canceled trip on Southwest that will be expiring soon. Unfortunately, I no longer live in the US, so can't really book another SW flight. Can I do anything useful with it? Sell it? Buy a ticket for someone else? Use it for something else?

If you cancelled a trip purchased with cash or gift cards, the funds are tied to you specifically and expire 1 year after purchase. Cannot transfer or buy for someone else.
If the amount is over $100, call Southwest Customer Service and look into resurrecting the funds for a fee of $100, which they take out of the amount. They will generally do this. As I recall, you can do this once only and the funds are good for another 6 months, but policies do change.

Can the resurrected funds be used by others? Do I do that before or after they have expired?

Try calling Southwest. I used to fly them commuter between N and S California and had many cancels/rescheds. IIRC, at least once I purchased a ticket using funds for my wife. I'm pretty sure I did this by phone and maybe it wasn't quite to the rule, but it got done. Could have been luck of the draw with that particular agent.

Yes, the resurrected funds are in the form of a voucher. Usable by anyone. The rules says you cannot transfer or sell, but I have never heard of a problem doing that.
I did it after, but before might be OK. Call them.

This is the policy for all forms of purchase except Southwest points.

TTFs are tied to original customer. No calling anyone will change that.
After expiration, you have 6 months in which to call and request reissue as a voucher for a $100 fee. The voucher will be good for 6 months from date of issue, and can be used by anyone. This is all granted on a case-by-case basis, and is subject to change at any time.
Calling Customer Relations may get you the voucher prior to expiration.
