Advance notice: Website unavailable for RR bookings 4-23 11pm - 4-24 6am CST

Advance notice of website maintenance is a welcome new development. Yet, why does this fill me with dread? (Taking some screenshots now, just in case.)

ALERT: Rapid Rewards account access and points bookings will be unavailable tonight from about 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (CST). Please call 1-800-435-9792 to book a sale fare using points during this time. Thank you!
Posted on the main page and also FB and Twitter.

Round 2 of the current deval? Perhaps they are pissed someone figured out the hidden fare class geometric progression of points. No outcry thus far? Get ready for 80x-90x ?

I'd say it's scheduled maintenance. They didn't suspend account access on 4/17 when they were adjusting redemption rates, did they?

I don't like it.

Who does maintenance on a Thursday night? Don't they usually schedule such things for Saturday night, he writes after having update a major server app this evening.?

Since they give the option of phoning in your bookings, I imagine that this is an interface or back end change rather than wholesale repricing of awards. But if you are a worrier you might want to book your award travel now.

Maybe they're going to display the points multiplier they are using for that particular flight?

Yeah right, like they would actually do a a thing like that.

And do they really mean CST, meaning one hour behind the time currently observed in the Central time zone?

Almost certainly not. Southwest's announcements often have typos and minor semantic errors like this. Maybe that's why they didn't want to give us any details on the devaluation!

It looks like things are starting to get flaky on the website, guess we'll see what "enhancements" they make.

I can't retrieve a reservation now even using the PNR without logging in.

Despite what the alert says, phone reps can't make points bookings either.

I was happy to find that everything in my account remained as it should have.
