Next SW Big 72 Hr Sale?
Anyone with any idea when Southwest will trot out one of their strong $49 for 0-500 mile, $99 for 501-1250 mile etc sales? They've only had one of these so far in January of 2015 as far as I know. Thx.

We might see a sale mid-June. I wouldn't bet on it.

For the last few years there has been a hiatus on sale fares during the summer months. The only "good" sale this year was a special Atlanta only $49 Sale in February.
I think there will be a "Birthday Sale" in mid-June. That's one of those things they have embedded in their culture. I think it will cover the period from late August to December, possibly early 2016, with no dates available during the heavy holiday traffic season. It may be far more restricted than in the past.
May 14, 2015, they will open their schedule for sale through January 4, 2016, so I expect any sale to be after that.
There also has in the past usually been a sale in Octover covering the first part of the next year.
But I'm probably wrong.

If I were a betting man I'd wager on one or two far sales covering travel from September (maybe late August) through February, excluding Friday/Sunday travel, and with the holidays blacked out, obviously.
I really wouldn't count on any kind of sale to cover the summer vacation months.
