AMEX Platinum Card credit

Has anyone received AMEX Platinum card credit for purchasing WN email flight credit gift cards? If so, what dollar denominations, and where purchased, i.e. web, phone etc?

Also got it on Citi Prestige card. Some AA, some WN e-mail gift cards.

Here's the existing lengthy thread with hundreds of datapoints: $200 airline fee reimbursement reports: WN/FL only

No problem with 2x$100 WN giftcards. For some reason someone advised me not to do 1-$200 giftcard but I forget why not.

Forgot to say, with the Citi Prestige, I did not have to pick any specific airline, obviously. I think with the Amex you do.

I read that too, perhaps a larger amount gives the appearance of airfare, not an ancillary charge, that is why I did 75-75-50.

FWIW, as I posted in the main thread, I did 2 separate $100 WN GCs for my Plat but 1 single $200 WN GC for Mrs. FindAWay's Plat. All were automatically credited back.

However, since WN allows 4 different payment sources per transaction and most are booking one-way flights, the primary downside to multiple, smaller GCs is the extra effort in keeping track of the additional GCs.

Thanks, I still have to do the 2015 credit so this is very helpful, thanks for coming back.

Good for TSA fees

Beware (or Rejoice), I used this card to pay for some $5.60 TSA points fees and they were rebated back as part of my 2015 $200 credit. Gonna be a nightmare keep tracking of what's left and hit $200 exactly with Gift Cards, especially if take back the credit when cancelling points bookings. Could be a boon to others with proper record keeping...

Your happiness may vary!

I successfully purchased 1x$200 WN gift card online through email. Got the credit 3 days after purchase. Very easy. Used my AMEX platinum card
