Southwest weather waiver in New England Thu-Sat 2/7-9
 

On southwest.com now. Affected airports include ALB, BDL, BOS, DTW, MDW, MHT, MKE, and PVD.

Successfully used the web site to move my mother-in-law off her Saturday afternoon flight ex-MHT onto a Friday morning flight. There was initially no availability on Friday morning; but after checking and rechecking southwest.com about a zillion times, a seat opened up. Grabbed it.

Great... On my way from MHT to RDU now. Headed back during the brunt of it Friday night. Looks like more BBQ for me.

So what exactly are Southwest's "accommodation procedures"?
A search for "accommodation procedures" on southwest.com only returns that page. Does it mean a customer would be able to choose any other flight without paying the fare difference in addition to no change fee?

BUF (and ROC, even though still technically still an FL city) are included in a winter WX warning from "Nemo", I guess they think we're accustomed to 1-2"/hr here because they aren't included in the waiver?

There should be a link you can follow from WN's weather advisory page to a page that allows you to make changes. I was able to move my mother-in-law multiple times (from her original flight to successively more desirable Friday flights as seats became available) without charge.

EWR, ISP and LGA added to the waiver now also.

I have a flight out of BDL on Sat but I wonder if I can change to a flight out of ALB? What if my flight original flight out of BDL is cancelled, will I be able to reschedule out of ALB?

PM flights to MHT were cancelled. Luckily got on an AM flight and flew right over Snowmageddon. Landed as storm was whipping up. Easy to rebook.

What was interesting was that BWI (where I came from) was really not that hectic. I would have thought that it would have been a madhouse with people trying to get home before the storm. Yea... The MHT flight was full but there were not 10 people at the CS desk trying to get on standby... Like I imagined.

I think lots of people cancelled.
