Do I need to check-in to get A01 - BS A+

I always fly BS and am A+ & CP. I check-in 24 hours ahead of departure and usually get A01 boarding, but several times have gotten bumped back.

My question is: am I increasing my chances of getting A01 doing the check-in or am I wasting my time because the boarding order has already been predetermined?

Thanks,
Jack

My understanding is that order within BS isn't predetermined. The first to check in gets A1.

As a LUV shareholder, I just wanted to say thank you.
