Where is SWABrian?

This goes along with ftnoob's post about SWAGabe, but I thought maybe it deserves a thread of its own. Looks like many of you have met SWAGabe, and he has four other colleagues from Customer Relations who will be mingling with you. We do listen to FlyerTalk, and sometimes it may seem like we move in a glacial manner, but we want to get it right. We knew that I wasn't able to give y'all the attention you deserve. Increasingly, my duties were being drawn into our archival efforts, and I have been working on a Team that not only saved the first 737-300 to enter commercial airline service, N300SW The Spirit of Kitty Hawk, but created a permanent SWA historical display around and in the aircraft plus 3,800 square feet of display space at the Frontiers of Flight Museum here in Dallas. This has morphed into a job change for me, and I am now Southwest's Corporate Historian. I have my hands full trying to wrangle 40 years of archives--but, it's my perfect job.

While that was going on, we realized that you needed someone with current day to day knowledge of procedures, access to computer systems, and the ability to act for you without having to enlist the help of others. So, we began looking for some social media specialists within Customer Relations who can participate online throughout the web. You FlyerTalkers are important to us, and I think this change is exciting. SWAGabe has already made a big positive impact (he tells me he already used up his initial supply of pm's), and you probably will be hearing from the other folks on this new team, SWARob, SWAVerity, SWAWhitney, and their Leader, SWACatherine. They may come up with different handles, so don't hold me to those specific screen names.

I have been a part of FlyerTalk for maybe four years now, and I have enjoyed the time spent with you (well most of it, lol). The give and take has been rewarding. I've always tried to recognize that this is your site, you won't always agree with us or me, but your voice needs to be heard. Many of you I have met in person, and the relationships I have built here have been meaningful. You will still see me from time to time, and I know our new Team will serve you well.

I only started flying Southwest last year, but you've been a real help in that short period.

Thanks for your efforts and I wish you the best in the archive world!

Thanks Brian! I can't tell you how helpful it was that you guys answered questions here... I don't really fly Southwest anymore (more accurately don't fly revenue flights) after the change to RR 2.0, but one thing you guys did seriously right was customer service. I hope as things transition into a new airline (merged) the Southwest "attitude" doesn't leave, because if I come back it will be because of that specifically.

I figured you were on a train somewhere. Good luck. Maybe RP can help you out with some HDK stories. I would love to see a kiosk where crew members are telling their stories about the early days.

Brian, thanks for all of your help on here over the years. If you need some help on your new endeavour, the US Navy has told me that they are done with my services after nearly 24 hours, so I have some free time.
Much appreciation to your efforts on this board.
