Great pics, curb!!

How cool would it be to log into your bank account Sunday and see: balance 13 cents, then log in Monday morning and see a wire hit, and the new balance of $1,420,000,000.13

With the complete integration taking nearly 2 years, I wonder what the immediate impact will be to travellers. I realize there are relatively few overlapping rountes, but I wonder if Southwest will interline with Airtran on those during any irregular ops, missed flights, etc in the meantime...

According to Southwest spokesperson Brian Hirshman, VP maintenance & engineering at Southwest, it will be three years before the two airlines are fully integrated

I'm betting WN will have to use assigned seating into the U.S. from Mexico. I would not want to fly on an international route where law enforcement and immigration had no idea where a potential "person of interest" was seated.

I gather two-cabin planes will be not used on WN routes during the transition?

Does Spirit Airlines have to offer assigned seating on its flights from Cancun and Toluca into the U.S.?

Spirit assigns seats from both cities. Not sure whether they "have to" but I wouldn't be surprised. They computer-assigned randomly unless you pay extra.

Oh, I can't take any credit for these. I just embedded others' public pictures. I do agree that they are great, though!

I believe they will have to assign seat if you cross border.

I flew AirAsia from Bangkok to Phuket(within Thailand) and it was open seating. Then they started service BKK to SIN and had to assign seat.

I think it has something to do with each government wants to know who is sitting where. I could be wrong.
