Most credits in 12 months

I was wondering if this has ever been covered. What is the most credits anyone has gotten in a 12 month period utilizing all avenues available. I had 151.5 but I am sure that was easily passed by those that use rental cars.

I use rental cars and fly weekly

I have earned 247 credits in the past 12 months. I fly 48 weeks a year, and rent cars based upon who has the best extra credits promotion. I collect Marriott points so I do not get RR credits from hotel stays.

I rarely use Business Select fares.

Since I'm at:

Current Balance Towards Companion Pass: 102.25
Credit Needed for Companion Pass: 0.00
Credit Needed by: 10/02/2010

I'm avoiding posting partner credits to WN when practical (i.e., when I can get a decent deal from another partner).

I am in the same situation. WN management should ask for a report on the decline in credits posting the months prior to the expiration of the companion pass. I think it would be an eye opener.

I quit using my WN Visa card and switch hotels and car rentals to BA or AA as soon as my 100 credits for the CP have been earned. This usually means 2-3 months of the year.

Yup...that's the real challenge: not earning over 100 credits per 12-month period.

I may be married to WN but Cathay is my mistress.

Rapid Rewards Credit Summary
August 12, 2009 - August 12, 2010
Credits earned 08/12/2009 - 08/12/2010: 270.5
Credits needed to earn my next award: 15.25
My 16th credit must be earned by: 08/08/2012

am i the new chip leader? i don't know that this is something to be proud of though - i'm sure i've wasted a lot of benefit i could have gotten by taking more of these in choice points or hertz points after renewing my CP..

If those mostly come from flying (and if so, you are tougher than I am), there's not much you can do, other than switch to a legacy for some flights.

If a chunk of those credits came from spend on the WN Visa, you should of course switch to something like the Hilton Surpass or Starwood Amex. Or an OPEN Amex if you spend much where the cashback comes into play (Hertz, Marriott, Hyatt, FedEx, etc.). Or the Amex Blue, my new favorite for some spend (5% cashback on gas/groceries/pharmacy after you hit $6500 for the year).

If they are from hotel stays, yeah, you "wasted" some.

If WN doesn't introduce some higher tier than CP in RR 2.0, they are nuts, to coin a phrase.

Mostly flying, some Chase. I get up to 5 credits a flight with BS and various bonuses. I usually get at least 3 credits a flight.
