Going to DisneyWorld

OK, my company just announced that all of us have to take a week off from work in July, so, what better way to celebrate 2% loss of income than to take the family to Orlando.

We have been there, last time we stayed at a hotel that wasn't in the resort, so this time I wanted to see if it made sense to stay at a Disney Hotel with all the promotions going on.

Where can I get the best deal to stay there? Should I do it directly through Disney Vacations, or a combination of Expedia + AAA tickets would be cheaper?

Any suggestions?

I am planning on staying 5 nights, which are going to include
  1. Magic Kingdom
  2. Animal Kingdom
  3. Shopping/Sightseeings
  4. SeaWorld

You may get some tips here, but www.disboards.com will have 1000 times more info.

I usually book my own Disney trips (over 20 of them) but used AAA last time and did save some money that way.

I agree that www.disboards.com is very helpful (though it has become so large that it's often tough to weed through all the posts).

Also, go to the Disney site and look for the special offers. Make sure you click on those links for pricing. Additionally, determine ahead of time if you want park hopper passes/waterparks/non-expiring passes. They cost more.

Have fun.

Disneyworld.com has a pretty decent booking engine. They are running an amazing promotion right now where if you pay for 4 nights at any of their resorts you get 3 nights free. They have a variety of packages that include theme park tickets and even meals, which can be a real bargain if you hit it right. Good luck!

Try Mousesavers.com

Its the best site for deals.

And don't be snotty about posts in the future concerming Disney on OMNI or you might find people don't want to help you.

Cheers Larry.

Disney employees will tell you that EPCOT stands for "Every Paycheck Comes On Thursday."
