Visiting U Tampa
 

My daughter and I wll be visiting University of Tampa. Looks like all the majors (Hyatt, Sheraton, Marriott, etc. are within 5 minutes of the university) Does any one of these stand out from the others (I am at the lowest level in all of the programs) as newer/nicer/renovated? Or is there perhaps an independent option near UT that is really nice? Thanks

It's a beautiful campus, by the way. I would stay at the new Embassy Suites at the Convention Center -- still within walking distance (7-10 minutes or so) and very new, maybe 3-4 months old. The Sheraton is right down the street from campus and on the river, but pretty dated. Same with the Downtown Hyatt, a couple of blocks further away. If you're driving, you could also consider the Westin or Marriott on Harbour Island, or any of the nice Westshore/International Plaza hotels (Wyndham, Renaissance, etc.)

But check out the Embassy Suites.
