How much to tip towncar driver?

I'm flying out of MCO on Wednesday morning and am taking a towncar to get there. I haven't taken a towncar to the airport in forever and am curious what the local "going rate" for airport service is for tipping. Drive from my hotel is about 10 miles and I am being picked up at 5:00 am, if that has any bearing.

I realize the many discussions this thread might spawn about the relative merits of various services, but I am really just looking for info about tipping. Thanks.

I usually tip 15-20% if it hasn't been included in the bill. The company I've been using in NJ includes it, and we will sometimes give the driver about $5 in cash.

If you're using Carey Transportation (large outfit in Florida and elsewhere in the US) - the tax and tip is usually included in the price you're quoted. Robyn

Like with most things in life, my general rule of thumb for tipping drivers is 20% for good service, and a bit more for exceptional service.

Good points by others, however--just make sure the tip isn't already included before you add it in.
