MIA Airport to Intercontinental

Attending a conference next week and it's my first time in Miami.

Would taking the Metro/ train from MIA to the Intercontinental the best way to get there? I called the hotel and they said this way cheaper than any Uber/ Lyft, and only takes about 15 minutes, but when I googled it, the train + Mover is about 40 minutes or so.

My flight arrives MIA after 9 in the evening, then my return flight leaves around 9AM. Is the train 'safe' enough for a single traveler?

To be honest, I would just take a Lyft regardless. It's $20-25 that time of night and probably a 20 minute ride.

The public transport is a lot cheaper... I believe it's still $2.25 for the Metrorail ticket each way. But understand this is a three train journey.... Take the Miami Airport Mover to the rental car center/Airport Train Station, then take the Metrorail Orange Line probably to Dadeland South, then take the free Metromover loop a few stops. There's no way it takes less than 40 minutes assuming you make reasonably timed connections. I personally have done it and not worried about my safety (ride up front with the driver on the Metrorail.... Metromover being free sometimes has interesting people, but usually police presence) but I also have spent a good bit of my life regularly taking big city public transit.

Myself, I would just take the rideshare. It'll be more comfortable with better air conditioning anyway.

OP would get on a train headed toward Dadeland South, they would not ride to Dadeland South. They would get off at Government Center and transfer to the Metromover. They would catch the Omni Loop if it is in operation or the Inner Loop if it isnt. They would ride either to the Bayfront Park station.
