RSW Western Global freighter aircraft at passenger gate

Taken on Tuesday this week. Curious why a freighter would be parked at a passenger gate? This was at Fort Myers (RSW) gate B3. I looked at WG website they appear to be freight-only.

Thanks

Taking on some self-loading cargo.

Huh? Do you mean passengers? I thought this was a freight aircraft, how many passengers would this aircraft carry? (Wouldn't the use of the gate be expensive?)

They do military charters, and advertise that their aircraft meet military transport standards, so, yes, could well be they had some self-loading cargo of the kind who don't complain about lack of lie-flat seats and PDBs

WGA doesn't carry passengers... and those aircraft converted to freight have had the exits deactivated except for forward doors. This could have been per US customs request (that is one of the customs gates... Eurowings I believe usually uses that gate) or parking at the terminal for bringing a group on board like a tour may have been easier to cope with security protocol (easier to go through TSA than some of the requirements to bring people out onto the field, plus deal with airstairs, right number of people to escort, etc).
