RDU almost 4hr connection domestic to international
I and my seven year old have an almost four hour AA to AA connection between about 2:30pm and 6:15pm through RDU airport (saved us about $300 each compared to nonstop flights JFK-LHR) and I’m wondering if anyone knows of any fun things to do, maybe outdoors, in the area?
Is it too far or too little time to go into any of the Triangle cities themselves by Uber or other method?
Doesn’t have to be entirely kid centric — we both like walking in nature, urban architecture, history, art museums etc. A nice park with associated playground for a bit near an interesting neighborhood might be fun if such a thing exists…
We have lounge access but I assume 4hrs in the RDU Admirals Club will get a bit boring.
How long would reclearing security be likely to take on a Thursday afternoon in late June?

Umstead state park is only a few minutes away. https://www.ncparks.gov/state-parks/...ead-state-park
Crabtree Lake park is another nearby option. https://www.wake.gov/departments-gov...ee-county-park
