Its August in New Orleans -- that means its COOLinary time
 

August is prime hurricane season and the slowest month of the year for tourism, so traditionally a lot of restaurants closed during the month. About 20 years ago, some started doing a COOLinary menu, which is usually a 3 course pre fix menu sold at or near cost to attract locals and keep everyone busy -- its also a chance for a lot of chef's to try something different or slightly off center. In other words, its a great time and place to be a foodie!

The main website is COOLinary New Orleans. That said, many others do it but don't participate in the "official" program. You have to inquire with the restaurant, but for many its only during the week.
