Universal discount after 4pm?

Just curious, is there a discount ticket available for FL residents after a certain time of day for Universal/IOA?

I was at Universal about two weeks ago and noticed after about 4 or 5pm, the crowd almost instantly became quite a bit more local & downmarket. In some cases, very downmarket.

I'd like to go back to Universal to catch the rides which were broken when I was there, but at $150/ticket, that's airfare to somewhere more interesting.

I've never known of any public ticket that was discounted for the evening at Universal. Like Disney, Universal does offer convention attendees special half-day tickets at a discount. However, you must present a valid convention badge or credentials to pick up the ticket at will-call.

Your best deal will be a 2 or 3-day Florida resident ticket. For a park-to-park ticket, that costs $189.99 or $199.99 plus tax. If you can limit yourself to one park per day (and don't care about riding the Harry Potter train that links the parks), the cost is $149.99 or $159.99 plus tax. Two-day tickets must be used within 60 days; three-day tickets within 90 days. Both option have blockout dates: July 1-August 15 and December 17-31, 2016.

I'd look at getting an annual pass. The Power Pass costs about $235 and you get access to both parks for a year (though there are some blackout dates, they are usually the times I'd never want to go anyway.)

I do believe the Premier Pass can be used as an Express Pass after 4pm each day.

It means exactly what I said -- We noticed that suddenly the crowds changed. We were seeing fewer families and instead were seeing roving gangs of teenagers that were obviously locals. They definitely weren't anywhere near as polite as the crowds we saw from the morning through early afternoon. Some of them were definitely up to no good ie: pickpocketing & such, some seemed a bit unsavory.

At one point my girlfriend started holding onto her purse and I agreed and moved my wallet to my front pocket, not that you can easily retrieve it from my back pocket.

Seeing the change in the crowd led me to believe that there might be some sort of afternoon/evening discount which might be for locals.

I'm glad you can spot the seedy teenagers, did they have their pickpocketing signs on? ;)

Anyways - Power Pass is the best value for your money - https://www.universalorlando.com/The...al-Passes.aspx

No need for signs, these teens were actively trying to steal a woman's purse.

So it was it a snatch and grab or a pickpocket situation (as you described it earlier) where they were trying to get something out of the purse? What did you do? Did you inform the woman of what was happening presumably without her knowledge? Did you inform a staff member?
