Local cuisine in Slidell, LA?

Pasing through Slidell for a night and it's my first time in this part of the world. Looking to try some local cuisine a d would appreciate recommendations of where / what to try?

Creole / Cajun etc is not widely available in the UK, at least not in an authentic manner from what I'm told, so be good to try something decent whilst I have the chance.

Any suggestions?

Try Michael's or Nathan's. Nathan's sits on Bayou Bonfuca, which might be of added interest to you.

You sure picked an "interesting" place to overnight.
