Siesta Key Florida...Beachfront?

good afternoon from Ohio. we are planning a trip to Siesta key in early August and this would be our first trip and are currently searching for hotels for our stay. It looks like they are more of the "motel" type locations, which is fine as we are there for the beach etc. Has anyone been for any recommendations they might be able to pass along?

thanks!

The very best place on Siesta Key is the Hyatt. You might get it for a decent price (but not cheap) since August is so off season. The rest of the motels well I hate all of them but that's just me. I'd rather do Lido or Longboat for the hotels.

There are probably decent deals on airbnb since it's August.

Yuk! If you're not set on Siesta consider the Long Boat Key Club (renovated rooms only) or the Lido Key Beach Resport (high tower only) or the Ritz downtown Sarasota which has a shuttle to its beach club on Lido.

Also like the airbnb idea for Siesta.

Vacation by owner type websites/properties are very popular down here, you can usually get great deals/negotiate during August as well. Just a thought, it is different if you're used to staying at high end hotels.

Here's searches for the first week of August to give you an idea.

Just a quick 'heads up', just returned from Siesta Key, the best part of the beach is from beach access 9 towards Siesta Village. Much less crowded and there is a great sandbank lagoon which is great for swimming. Have fun.

Double this. We were there in April and this spot north of the main beach area was awesome.
It was also very busy weekend in general so we stayed in Sarasota at a cheaper hotel and just drove to different beaches every day. Loved Lido beach too. Also recommend kayaking in the mangroves.

+1 The Hyatt there is great. Also, gamer1724 if you haven't gone yet make sure you check out Walts (Sea Food) it is the best in the area

Siesta Key Florida---Mid Feb

good evening. has anyone visited siesta key in Feb? I have a conference in Orlando from weds-fri and we were going to stay over a few days and thought about a drive to siesta key. ive checked online for "temp history" and says mid 70's...but was just looking for personal experience. Might the water be warm to snorkel?
