EZE - AEP advise

I am leaving for South America on Sunday. I just noticed of our inbound. We had booked a flight flying from Iguazu into of AEP in Buenos Aires at 3:30 p.m., but AC leaves from EZE at 6:00 p.m. How long do we need to transfer from one airport to the airport?

Thanks for any expert advise.

One hour is enough to get from AEP to EZE, but between flight delays, check-in and exit formalities, you probably should have scheduled in quite a bit more time than 2.5 hours. It's do-able in 2.5 hours, presuming you are taking a taxi right away, but I hope you are a carry-on only kind of person and have premium-cabin check-in. If you get out of AEP later than 4 p.m., start thinking about alternatives. Actually start thinking about it now.

Just out of curiosity, with which airline are you flying into AEP?

Thanks. We are flying with Lan from IGR to AEP. We already arrange some private transportion waiting for us. But, we do have luggages! What to do?

Hope that the LAN flight arrives into AEP on time with your luggage. :D (They are pretty decent, but I don't know that route on LAN well enough to comment about its performance -- check out the Argentina forum here on FT where someone else may be able to point you in the right direction in that regard.)

Seriously, if you are late into AEP rush to EZE anyway and try your luck with the airline personnel there instead of calling Air Canada on the phone. Short of being able to re-arrange your flight schedules, there's not a whole lot you can do at this point besides online check-in if Air Canada allows that.

It's a bit of a haul from central Buenos Aires to EZE. The smaller airport at AEP is even further away so I would say it's a good hour from point to point (that's in good traffic). In a perfect situation where you arrived right at 3;30 pm that gives you approximatly 1.5 hours to get checked thru customs and have 'all your luggage' pre-screened. Unless you have status expect the processing to take at least 30 minutes. You then have perhaps an hour to get to the gate, if you're lucky that is!

Good luck, Oh! Looks like no time for some of the best duty free shops in the world at EZE.

Shopping at the airside stores at EZE is overpriced, so I'd just as well recommend shopping in town itself if the opportunity is there on another day.

I don't expect traffic to be that bad along the main road in front of AEP that leads to the center. The traffic from say near Plaza San Martin to EZE? Well I don't bet on that. :D

Make sure to remember that after check-in you have to pay the departure tax before you can go for security screening and departure passport control.

4 to 6 hours of built-in transit time would be more advisable, but perhaps that is water under the bridge at this point.

Is the LAN flight into AEP on the same ticketed itinerary as the flight departing EZE? I hope so.

Could the OP save time by paying the departure tax on arrival to EZE? I can't remember if you already need your boarding pass to do that...

Good luck! Iguazu is gorgeous!

LAN are pretty reliable but their often delays at teh airport in downtown BA due to fog!

Or you might get delayed if ATC in Brazil is all messed up (like when I was there last...)! But then again, our EZE-ATL flight a few days later was delayed, too, for the same reason!
