AT&T US ---> what in Bogota?

We (2 Samsung phones) have ATT Florida 55+ plan in US = ~$99US/mo.
12 nights Bogota, we want to call each other & locally in Bogota;
we want constant wifi signal so we can refer to Google Maps as we move around Bogota;
(in past Intl travels we hunted free wifi, but we'd pay a bit more for convenience)
each time I call ATT I get different-conflicting info about their Unlimited Premium & International plans
for JUST our 12 night visit -- as little as $20US extra total to as much as $10/day extra plus fees
but with no clarity on exactly what will be possible...
am going to call ATT again & request authoritative supervisor but if someone reading this knows...?
thanks in advance, regards

I have AT&T and the international plan is $10 per day with a maximum charge of $100 per month. I'm not 100 percent sure about data limits, but I've never had problems.

Data coverage is fine in Bogota. Even in the countryside, data coverage is somewhere between sporadic and decent.

Depending on your budget, you can always seek out a local SIM card of course.

Assuming the OP has an unlocked phone. Previously to my current carrier (T-Mobile) I was a long time ATT customer due to discounts from my employer. I found that the roaming charges add up quickly. Depending on amount of international travel it could run anywhere form $100 - $250 (or more) a year. I purchased an unlocked international configured Moto Power phone for around $200 several years ago and just did local sim cards everywhere I went. Saved me tons of $$$.

If you have an Unlimited Elite Plan, South America is now free, instead of the $10 per day ($5 for second phone).

Find a Claro shop and buy a SIM card (5,000 COP/ around 1 USD). It will come with 2 GB plan available for 1-2 weeks. If you need add. data you can purchase various packages (including data), e.g. a 30 day package including unlimited data, text/SMS and talk for 30,000 COP/approx 7 USD)

It's also worth downloading offline maps in the Google app while traveling. With offline maps, you can view the map, search for points of interests/businesses, view some business details, and get driving directions with no wifi or cellular connection. https://support.google.com/maps/answ...Platform%3DiOS
