Evo Out of Bolivia...No More Visas for US Citizens
Good news for USCs' out there--
As of mid-December, there's no longer a need for tourist visas to visit Bolivia. Yes, I AM aware that now may not be the best time, but it's still groovy news.
I was only there once, in 2008, but I had a jolly good time overall. Highly recommend visiting Salar de Uyuni (the salt flats), even though they were a pill to visit (night bus, and {horrible} Germans).
Quite enjoyed the salteñas, too; they are local baked empanadas.
Basically, I went from La Paz to Salar de Uyuni, back to La Paz, and then to Lake Titicaca/Copacabana. Don't rush into anything at those altitudes.
