SCL - domestic to international MCT?
 

In November I'll be flying LATAM from PUQ to SCL, arriving 7:50 pm. My Delta flight to ATL leaves at 9:50 pm. Is that sufficient connection time given two separate airlines? Or should I look for an earlier arrival into SCL?

I would allow more time. If the stars are aligned, you'll probably make it. I assume you will have checked luggage. (And if you were thinking of traveling with hand luggage only, take LATAM's size/weight restrictions seriously.) From arrival gate to collecting luggage to getting up to DL check-in, allow 30 to 40 minutes. Assuming you can use a kiosk check-in and just do a bag drop, allow another 15 minutes. If you need an agent, allow more, and I'm not sure of the DL cutoff, but it may be an hour before that flight (so 8:50 pm). Then the choke point is the departure passport control, for which you'll need to plan 30 minutes. It could be 10 or 15, it is unlikely to be more than 30.

Also, as it sounds like you'll be on separate tickets, LA will have no less than 2 schedule changes between now and then. They're typically good about changing your flights w/o charge for a material schedule change. All that is to say that your 7:50pm arrival could end up being 8:45, or 6:30.
