Wire transfer bank to bank.

Or you can bring a monetary instrument (check, certified check, cashiers check, etc). Or cash.

For cash: it is perfectly legal to bring any amount of cash you desire into the United States but you must declare at entry how much you are bringing if the total amount of all monetary instruments in your travelling party's possession is equivalent or greater than US$10,000.

If you bring cash be sure that you can clearly and easily document how you legitimately are in possession of more than US$10,000 in cash or monetary instruments - ie. very good records documenting the sale of the apartment and how you literally came into possession of the cash because otherwise the Customs officers might seize the cash. and then you have problems.

stick with wire transfer. Ask your banker for more information.

Whoever handles the transaction for you in Colombia ought to be able to arrange to have the funds wired to your US bank account (presuming that you have met all Colombian export requirements).

I have no idea how much you sold your apartment for, but do not attempt to import anything over $10,000 into the US from Colombia unless you have irrefutable documentation from a reliable accountant, bank and attorney showing the source of the funds (including how you came by the apartment in the first place). Even then, this will trip every red flag there is and will take hours to clear up. A longer way of saying: "wire transfer"
