MVD airport transfer
 

Looking for a transfer from MVD airport to my hotel in Punta del Este – any company that you could recommend? Any experiences? And what would be a reasonable pricing? (1 person, 1 suitcase, arriving late morning so no exotic timing)

Or should I just take a taxi directly at the airport (and would that be safe)?

Taxi will be extremely expensive. There's a bus service direct from the airport to the bus terminal in Punta. You can take a taxi at the bus terminal to your hotel in Punta very easily.

MVD-Punta del Este is roughly 150km, so taxi will be very expensive.

COT and COPSA operate coaches every hour from Montevideo to Punta del Este via the airport. Price is around 300 UYU (10 USD) and there's room for luggage at the coach's boot. I haven't taken those coaches in a while now but you used to pay straight to the driver in Uruguayan pesos.

From Punta del Este bus terminal you can take a taxi to your hotel.

Thank you very much for your advice – hadn’t thought about the long distance bus option but that is clearly the best and most economical way so will go for that
