Colombia reciprocity fee ?

Does Colombia still charge the reciprocity fee from Canadian passport holders ?

Yes and in fact the price has steadily gone up with the falling exchange rate...or rising exchange rate, depending on what's your base currency. Last time I went to Colombia (June or so) it was 191,000 IIRC.

Of course this is only for MOST Canadians. If you have a visa of any kind you're exempt, if you don't fit the age range (I think it's like 18-65) you're exempt, if you're going onward to San Andres, you're exempt.

BTW, just in case, careful with this. I was on a ticket ORD-PTY-BOG-SCL and I got charged this BS fee. I pleaded my case at the border but was basically told "sorry sir if you have to collect your bag, you have to pass customs, which means you pay". In the end I got a credit from Copa for their incompetence, but that had it's own problems. Long story short, they refused to tag my bag all the way to SCL despite it being all on the same ticket and PNR.
