Day trip from Santiago

Hey guys! I'll be traveling solo for a 3 day trip to Santiago next weekend, and was thinking about doing a day trip outside the city. There are lots of tours available, or I could rent a car. Any thoughts? Cajon del Maipo (pictures of the lake with snow look pretty amazing)? Wine tasting? Valparaiso? I'd appreciate any insight!

Cajon del Maipo could be nice (albeit cold). Take a tour in that case. To Valparaiso, you can take a tour that will stop at a vineyard (Indomita is pretty spectacular), but you can also easily do it on your own, by bus or renting a car. I would only advise renting a car if you are fluent in Spanish.

Having said that, 3 days is not a huge amount of time, and you could just relax, enjoy wine tastings, and the nightlife in Santiago without needing to overburden yourself with long day trips.
