Galapagos Islands on a budget

(forgive me if this is posted in the wrong area. I'm a newbie to these forums and this hobby)

Here in a few weeks me and 2 guys are going to Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands for 10 days. We are up for about anything but are trying to stay on a reasonable budget, especially while on the islands.

Any advice or suggestions on things to do out there? We will be on Baltra (the main island) for 2 1/2 days and be on San Cristobal for 2 days. We're airbnb'ing our lodging which was only $15/night per guy, but we're looking for any suggestions of hidden gems on the islands.

On a side note, thank you to all of you who make websites like this possible. I'm new to the points hobby and got my flight to ecuador and back with a stopover in the Galapagos for 40k points total. My 2 friends paid $950 for their tickets. Safe to say I am hooked after my first points booking.

Since this is a post mostly asking for advice, even if on Budget, I am moving this thread to South America forum where the experts will hopefully have some tips for you.

Lots to do on San Cristobal for free. Lobo beach is a bike ride away with lots of wildlife, Cerro Tijeretas is a good hike, with good free snorkeling spots and a beach below.
Everything else will require a day trip (up to $100 per car per day, or $100++ for boat trips)

On Baltra, there is not much to do, but you can see tortoises and lava tunnels inland.

Any boat trips to other islands will be in the neigbourhood of $100 per person. Ferries are a fixed $60pp round trip to Isabela/San Cristobal from Baltra. Bring seasick pills, and/or do not hang out at Bongos too late the night before :)
