SCL Plane Switch

Hello all,

Quick question on a flight switch in Santiago.

I am heading down to Cordoba Argentina via Santiago on AA and LAN next month.

As of now I am flying into Santiago on the 3rd in AA Economy and then Santiago to Cordoba on the 4th on LAN. If I am willing to leave the the 4th from the US I can fly AA in business class but the catch is I would only have about an hour and ten minute layover in SCL before my next flight to Cordoba.

My question is this, since AA and LAN are codeshare partners will we be able to check out bags through to Cordoba even though the tickets are on two separate reservations? Will an hour be long enough to make the connection? I assume we won't have to go through customs, is that correct?

Thanks for all the help.

Derek

1:10 is plenty of time for an int'l/int'l connection @ SCL - just a quick transit security procedure. As far as interline baggage, you'll have to ask AA. Historically, never an issue, but with all the new rules in place, I have no idea.

I have to book a two-ticket airline itinerary to get from my home airport of TRI to MDZ (Mendoza, Argentina). I am flying Delta to/from SCL, then TAM SCL-MDZ-SCL (yes, it's 122 nautical miles each way, but five and a half hours by car over the Andes), so I must fly. I want to make sure I get my 10,000+ MQMs on Delta, so will book directly with Delta. TAM, I could care less about the 244 EQMs with AA.

Anyway, my question is how much time should I allow to arrive in SCL, go through customs and immigration, pick up my bag, then go to the TAM check-in, re-check my bag with TAM (if I re-check my bag, debating that), and return back through immigration and security?
