Anyone have any luck with Star Alliance Awards through SAA?
I have 100k voyager miles and using the award link on flysaa - I get nothing available and have to start every query again from scratch - it's impossible to find a flight like this.
How else could I use my voyager miles on a US airline - United or Delta or even KLM.
Realistically would want to book an economy and use miles to upgrade - but that seems impossible nowadays anyway - how would it work with a star alliance award certificate - can't even issue this?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Read through this SAA forum and you'll see that SAA has been through business rescue/reorganization/bankruptcy and is barely limping by (IMO). I'd be stunned if, during the course of reorganization, your miles "survived" or were merely cast into the dustbin. Sorry. Even if your miles "survived," I'd be even more stunned, if given the state of SAA that their online mileage booking system "worked" or if other carriers "honored" ticket "purchases" using SAA miles.

My Voyager miles are alive and well and have been used to book flights from London to Sydney on United. All ticketed.
SAA werent able to book on Singapore airlines, despite seeing availability but United and Thai options were available.
Whether SAA survives long enough for United to honour the ticket is another issue.

I still have all of my miles as well over a million of them. Busy trying to get flights to the USA now, but it's more difficult than ever it seems.
I will keep you updated. So far, UA flights is a nogo for booking with Miles, Upgrades I am unsure.
I'll let you know if there is some success.

Like others, Ive previously been unable to get Voyager awards on Singapore Airlines ticketed but recently I managed to get an award from London to Australia on Singapore Airlines, all ticketed.
