Flying CPT to HDS on De Havilland DHC-8-400 Dash 8Q.

SAA website says a 56 cm x 26 cm x 23 cm carry on is allowed as hand baggage on SAA flights. Will this size carry on fit in the overhead locker of this particular aircraft?

SAA website also says that 8 kg is the weight limit allowed. Do they really ever weigh these bags? Mine is usually around 10 kg. when packed.

I want to avoid any problems when boarding the plane. But I hate checking bags.

I've never measured the lockers, but my medium-sized gearslinger and backback fit comfortably.

I've never had carry-ons weighed at any SA aiport ever, i.e. in the past 28 years.
