Baggage Questions Clarification
First time going to South Africa for two weeks leaving this Saturday (JFK- JNB - HDS), flying SAA and any help etc. will be appreciated.
Can you use a hard shell suitcase or soft side? Are we allowed two, 50 lb checked bags? As far as carry-ons, will it be a purse (weight limitation?) and a carryon (weight limitation?) In addition, if you have any advice for the connection at JNB it would be sincerely appreciated as well. Thank you! |

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Spoke with a rep at SAA who clarified my questions. Hardside is allowed on the hop to Hoedspruit, 2 50 lb bags, and 18 lbs on carry-ons. Really kind and efficient! Looking forward to Saturday. |
