Airlink & SAA

Had a quick google around and could find nothing except SAA are investors in Airlink. So here is my question.

I am looking at booking JNB-MUB on Airlink. If SAA do fail and go into receivership would they take Airlink down with them or are they separate enough to distance themselves and carry on trading if the worst happens?

Thank you for your help.

Airlink are an entirely independent operation. They simply sell their tickets through SAA ticketing stock. There may be some ticketing and distribution issues if SAA go down but Airlink will remain operational.

What is the best program for US based travelers to claim miles for travel on Airlink? Do they credit to the usual *A carriers?
