sa or et to iad?

have an award booking coming up and while i can snag tk back to mpm (^^^), i have only sa or et to choose from on the outbound.

i have flown sa up front a few times over the years and found it has gotten worse and worse, chintzier catering (INSTANT COFFEE in j), decrepit aircraft, broken seats, hit or miss staff. honestly i have found ua to be better.

never flown et up front but have been very happy with y value and service (even with no liquor in y on long haul). trip reports up front report mediocre drink but good food. the et flights are all on 787.

my priorities:
1) getting liquored up
2) getting well fed
3) comfortable enough seat (i can sleep anywhere)

both have similar schedule, same annoying tech stop (although et's is prob only to capture traffic), same cost. any thoughts?

ET on the new 787s

All the ET 787s now have flat beds. Food out of Addis (with the special injera course in addition to the regular choices) is superior to SA's catering. Liquor wise, I can't imagine you'll be too bothered about quality after the first few and the Ethiopian crew love to ply you with refills when you're sitting up front.

ET all the way (and the DUB stop on the outbound to Washington is purely a tech stop - no pax get on or off).

i thought the doro service was only for day departures? et500 (add-iad) leaves at 2250hrs.....

agreed that et crew is ^^^^^^ and while i do like my cognac ya all liquor tastes the same
