seat on SA operated AC booked JNB/LHR in J
 

Hi there-

Anyway for us to get a seat on operating flight SA234 booked as AC6853?
We are booked in P class on AC. That is discounted business class.
I am a Star Gold.
I've had no luck with SA or AC call centres.

What did SA call center told you?

SA call centre said they can't do it on a ticket issued on 014 stock.
That seems odd. It's a business class ticket. I have gotten seat assignments several times booking UA coded SA operated flights in business IAD-JNB. Not sure what the problem is with SA/AC.

That's a lie. I've done this route many times with no issues on seat assignments. The trick is the AC reference code is different from SA.

First, you need to find the SA booking reference code. This can be done by calling air Canada and providing your AC reference number, or calling SAA and indicating which flight you are on.

Then call the SAA USA reservations to get your seat assigned.

I've found the US call center more useful than the UK one. Perhaps you just got a rogue or misinformed agent.
